BDF applauded for role in HIV/AIDS fight

SELEBI-PHIKWE: The Health Services Manager at BCL Mine Hospital Dr Khumoetsile Mapitse has praised the Botswana Defence Force (BDF) for playing a significant role in combating HIV/AIDS.

Speaking during the Eastern Military Garrison's (EMG) Wellness Day in Selebi-Phikwe recently, Dr Mapitse lauded initiatives of the army such as the Men Sector and the introduction of Sekwata Condoms.

He said that the HIV incidence rate in Botswana has declined by 71 percent, the highest in the world, owing to sound intervention programs.
