BCP postpones primary elections

SELEBI-PHIKWE: The Botswana Congress Party (BCP) primary elections for 14 constituencies scheduled for this weekend have been deferred to November 24-25.

The opposition BCP is the first party to hold primaries ahead of the 2009 general election.
BCP believes it has better chances of winning the 14 constituencies, which fall under category A.

BCP Director of Elections, Stephen Makhura confirmed that the primaries had been moved to late November as a result of logistical problems.
