The BCP, recently, announced during its congress that party chairperson, Batisani Maswibilili, is now the parliamentary candidate for Nkange.

''His candidature follows the withdrawal of Decreanor Mangubo," said BCP Secretary General, Taolo Lucas. "Mangubo withdrew his candidature after it came to light that Maswibilili, who was previously unavailable to stand for parliament due to personal circumstances, had overcome such." Lucas told Mmegi that on learning that Maswibilili was available, meetings were held between relevant party structures and the general membership in the Nkange Constituency.
