MAPHASHALALA: The president of Botswana Congress Party (BCP), Dumelang Saleshando is optimistic that they will win Mahalapye East constituency in the coming general elections.

Saleshando told residents of Mahalapye East on Sunday that Ernest Nthobelang is a better candidate than Assistant Minister and current area MP Botlogile Tshireletso. “It is time that you look for a better party since you have tried BDP for 48 years but it failed to develop your area. Maphashalala could be having tarred roads as we speak. It pains to find that some villages have only a primary school and a small clinic to show as part of development in the area,” Saleshando said when welcoming Nthobelang and other former Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) members to BCP.

He said residents of Maphashalala should know that the BCP offers an alternative to the BDP. He said the people should learn from Nthobelang’s defection that life is not good in the ruling party. He pleaded with more BDP members to defect to BCP, a party which is ready to lead the country.
