SELEBI-PHIKWE: Botswana Congress Party's secretary general, Kesitegile Gobotswang, has said that they fully support public servants' decision to embark on a mother of all strikes if their demand for a 16 percent salary increase is turned down by the government.

Addressing a rally during the launch of Ikageleng Phase 1 by-election opposition candidate on Sunday, Gobotswang said for a long time, public servants appreciated the economic downturn yet corruption that depleted huge public funds was still abundant.

He said the workers income tax has reduced by 27 percent. "Now that the economy is recovering, why can't they be considered for increment?"
