BCL launches HIV prevalence survey

SELEBI-PHIKWE: BCL mine yesterday launched the HIV prevalence survey to enable the mine to assess if the current prevention efforts are effective. BCL mine has been in the past applauded for its excellent HIV/AIDS interventions.

The current survey involves the collection of saliva specimen on the mine whose general manager Montwedi Mphathi conducted the first test.

The survey is a saliva-based HIV antibody test using Vironostika HIV Uni-Form 11 to determine the HIV status of each BCL employee.
