As he takes over the reins of power at Botswana's oldest ecumenical movement, the incoming General Secretary of the Botswana Council of Churches says, there is need to refocus and re-strategise the work of the Council to deliver its mission.

Reverend Mosweu Simane, a United Congregational Church of Southern Africa (UCCSA) priest, says the Botswana Council of Churches must have a holistic approach to its mission and development. 

"My vision of the Council of Churches is largely informed by its mission and history of the council of churches.Before the birth of the republic of Botswana, the Council of Churches was also engaged in development projects like building schools and providing health care. The work of the council is also informed by the Scriptures."
