BCA hosts conference on animal agriculture

Agriculture scientists and related stakeholders have congregated at the Botswana College of Agriculture (BCA) for the institution's fourth annual Animal Agriculture Conference (ANI-AGRIC).

The conference, which began on Monday and is set to end today, is themed Challenges, Opportunities and Strategies for Sustainable Animal Agriculture in Developing Countries.

One of the organisers, Dr John Moreki said they decided on the conference to address agriculture-related challenges in Botswana."We recently experienced the shutdown of the Botswana Meat Commission (BMC), then there was the issue of solemnising. There is also frequent drought, Foot and Mouth Disease and other pressing agricultural issues - this conference will educate farmers and attendees on these issues," he said.
