All is not well in the Bakgatla royal house. Bakgatla Kgosi kgolo, Kgafela II has confirmed that he is scheduled to stand before a Mafikeng High Court to defend Bakgatla hegemony in South Africa.

His royal uncles in Mochudi are also cited in the matter which is seen as a litmus test for the newly coronated Bakgatla leader. 

Hardly a month since he was draped with a leopard skin in front of multitudes of Bakgatla from South Africa, Kgafela's authority, which extends into the neighbouring country, is being challenged.
