'Attorney' in illegal practice?

FRANCISTOWN: Justice John Mosojane has ruled that a man who purported to be an attorney in a civil case is ineligible to practise law in Botswana.

The judge therefore annulled the application of Chamkani Investments and Bashi Makhulo against Chaudry Ahmed and others because Armstrong Maruping, who prepared and signed the papers for the applicants, is not duly admitted to practise as an attorney. 

Maruping is the same attorney, whose law firm was removed from the roll and placed under curatorship in 2004 because he did not avail his accounts to the Law Society of Botswana (LSB). He only changed his first name to Armstrong.
