As I look back: I am proud-Mogae

Up until now, we have played the part of one of the world's leading diamond producers. Indeed, for many years, Botswana has been the lead actor in this production.

With the opening of these state of the art facilities, and the launching of DTCB as an operational company, we are now able "to up our game", by also becoming a major player in the aggregation and sale of rough diamonds. Through its operations, DTCB will immediately add significant value to our overall economy. In addition, its establishment will facilitate our ongoing efforts to promote further beneficiation through the promotion of local diamond cutting, polishing and manufacturing capacity. For me, as one of those who recalls the modest beginnings of our country's association with diamonds, the birth of DTCB is a dream come true.
