ARV hell over today

The permanent secretary In the Ministry of Health Dr Kolaatamo Malefho says the four weeks long shortage of ARV drug, Aluvia, across the country is now over after finally receiving the delivery of the drugs on Friday.

Malefho now reckons all facilities from Princess Marina in the South to Nyangabwe Hospital in the North will have adequate supply of the ARV drug starting today.

However, Malefho says it should be noted that not all ARV patients are on Aluvia, stressing that it is required by a portion of the patients on referral. Admidst talk that the shortage of the drug at referral hospitals had led to patients popping money out of their pockets to buy the drug, the PS told The Monitor that is not true. "I can confirm to you that no one has ever been sent away to go buy the ARV drug for themselves, that is not true".
