Armed robbers hit Choppies in Tlokweng

Police have launched a manhunt for four men who allegedly robbed Choppies Supermarket in Tlokweng of an unspecified amount of cash at gunpoint on Monday.

A manager at the store says the men walked into the store when employees were preparing to close for the day.They were armed with guns and threatened to shoot anyone who attempted to stop them. No one was hurt in the incident.

Superintendent Maniki of Tlokweng Police Station says the four men were seen escaping in the direction of Gaborone in a blue motor vehicle. Maniki says the frequency of armed robberies calls for a review of police strategies and that public safety should never be compromised.  No one has been arrested in connection with the incident.
