Animal diseases law amended

The Ministry of Agriculture has announced the amendment of the prohibition of use of Anabolic Hormones and Thyrostatic substances regulations of 2007.

Anabolic hormones are known to help build muscles and although they have become increasingly more available and affordable, such steroids are illegal because of their negative effects on health.

The use of anabolic steroids is a controversial issue as they are known to increase physical strength and are used in gaining an advantage in competitive sports.  They have been banned by major sporting bodies.
