Ambitious plans for Mmadinare District Show

The lease arrears date back to 1991 when the showground was allocated. Executive Chairman of the District Show Committee, Cornelius Seipato, says the landboard was on the verge of repossessing the showground when his committee, which was elected into office in 2010, sought an audience with them.

"We negotiated with them on the basis that district shows are non-profit making community events that are held only once a year for only two hours, hence it had been difficult to honour lease obligations," he told Mmegi.
