Allegations of discrimination at UB

The University of Botswana (UB) and the distance learning students at the Center for Continuing Education (CCE) are at loggerheads over allegations of unfair treatment and discrimination.

In a letter dated January 18, 2007 written to the dean of the faculty of business studies the students stated that they pay the same fees as the full time students despite having requested a breakdown of their fees to no avail.

The UB administration denies ever receiving the letter. The letter said most of the materials they use have been declared irrelevant by the tutors.
