'777' check on MDGs off to roaring start

The Botswana Council of Non-Governmental Organisations (BOCONGO) kick started commemorations marking the midway point for the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) with a seminar in Gaborone yesterday.

GCAP ambassadors, Miso "Mega V" Mmereki and Mike "Dignash" Morapedi, graced the event, which is part of the Global Call to Action Against Poverty (GCAP) campaign that runs from July to September.

A rally will be held at Bontleng Mall in Gaborone tomorrow morning starting at 9.  There will be entertainment and political speeches.  This will be part of the worldwide commemorations under the publicity tag '777' meaning the 7th day of the 7th month in 2007.
