South African media personality, Zodwa Wabantu who is known for her body revealing antics has found her way back into Botswana despite a warrant of arrest by Botswana Police Service (BPS) lingering over her head.

The warrant of arrest dates back to 2021 after Zodwa Wabantu performed at the first edition of Kanye Festive Explosion. Zodwa Wabantu was seen in trending videos doing what she is popular for, which is revealing her body parts during her performance.

Her acts got her on the wrong side of the law here in Botswana and a warrant of arrest was issued against her. And now two years down the line, the media personality has found her way back in Botswana and will perform at United Lounge Block 6 tonight. She is already in the country and had dinner at Mowana mall in Gaborone yesterday. Police spokesperson, Senior Superintendent Near Bagali revealed to Mmegi online that her warrant still stands.

“The warrant of arrest for Zodwa Wabantu has not been revoked and it is still effective,” Bagali said. Bagali further indicated that he is not aware of Zodwa Wabantu's presence in Botswana. But he said the South African should be arrested immediately if seen in Botswana.

Meanwhile, that has not proven to be the case, as the director of Hummer Entertainment Bata Dematema has revealed to Mmegi online that Zodwa Wabantu is in Botswana currently and has not been arrested. “Last time when I talked with Zodwa Wabantu was yesterday and from our talk she told me she is in Botswana having dinner at Mowana in Phakalane,” he said.

Asked if he is aware of the warrant of arrest leveled against the media personality, the director stated as far as he is concerned he knows that the situation has been resolved. “We heard from Zodwa Wabantu and her management that the issue has been dealt with hence why she is in Botswana currently,” Dematema said.

Currently Zodwa Wabantu is denied entry into Lesotho and Zimbabwe for the very same reasons that Botswana has issued a warrant against her.

It is yet to be seen how the story will unfold today or tonight when Zodwa Wabantu takes the stage at United Lounge.
