Young writer shines

The past few years have seen the emergence of a number of young local authors, many of them having gained popularity amongst their readers from diverse ages. This in return has seen a number of locals being hooked into reading.

Amongst those readers is a young woman, Mpho Rampatla who has since written a novel entitled Rays of Sunshine. In an interview, she told this publication that the book was her first for the Battered Rose series. It consists of a pleasant creepy storyline inspired by Solomon Northup. This book is a masterfully plotted domestic thriller that captivates both male and the male readers.

“The story charts the journey of Matshidiso, from her humble beginnings to become the most prominent and affluent advocate of human rights. Investigative journalist, Sefudi Mokopeleng’s investigation into allegations of abductions and slavery uncovers more troubling questions than answers. She soon finds herself working in the suspected farm in quest to reveal illicit acts taking place there,” she said.
