Speaking to MmegiOnline, he said the song is basically about untapped, but attainable love.

"I imagined a story of how I'd react if I found out somehow that the love I was looking for is right next to me, in someone I'd known, but probably dismissed in the past. It could even be someone I was casually intimate with for some time, but I didn't realize they were serious about me, probably because I was either dismissive, "hard of hearing", or just friend- zoned," he said.
