With Valentine's Day on the horizon calling for fitting event lineups, RNB On The Lawn has jumped on the bandwagon to offer patrons a taste of love and serve a themed edition, ‘Sundays Are For Lovers’.

Slated for February 16 at Bush Corner Sip & Grill in Tlokweng, event partner DJ Frostbite told Arts&Culture that this edition could not have come at a better time. He said it offers lovers a moment and opportunity to re-ignite the spark.

“The theme is Sundays Are For Lovers and we should provide the atmosphere for love to reign. For couples to reminisce and rekindle flames,” Frostbite said.

Though the theme typically suggests that the event is specifically for lovers, the RnB deejay stated that everyone is welcome. He said single people are not excluded and highlighted that the more the merrier.

“The event is not only about couples as it provides an opportunity for our singles out there to meet their potential partners and let love just be the theme of the day,” he said.

“Attendees will be pleasantly surprised with what we have in store for them. The music will of course be excellent. We have curated the music to encompass all eras of the genre so that attendees can have an appreciation of the genre's evolution,” he said.

He highlighted that RnB alone is a genre based on love, which is what motivated them to host the first of this year’s events around Valentine's in celebration of love hence the theme.

Some of the artists on the lineup alongside Frostbite are Ryno, DJ Quest, and NeoPlayedIt amongst others.

Marathe’s observations paint a picture of neglect with children left alone for...
