Something Big (Pty) Ltd has announced 30 finalists for this year’s Miss Supranational Botswana. According to the pageant’s spokesperson, Kaone Moremong, the beauties were selected after a thorough nationwide scouting and auditions.

Moremong said the auditions scouted talent in areas such as Kasane, Maun, Gantsi, Kang, Francistown, Selebi-Phikwe, Palapye, Jwaneng and wrapped up with two days of beauty search in Gaborone.

“The 30 queens will undergo a series of training and workshops to prepare them for the next stages of the pageant. They will be cut to 12 after a spectacular talent show to be hosted on March 24. Something Big Pty (Ltd) is a 100% locally owned company and holds license rights for Miss Supranational Botswana. Miss Supranational means transcending national boundaries, authority or interest involving more than one country, having power or authority that is greater than that of single countries or governments,” she said.

She explained that the duties of the pageantry are to work for charitable causes as well as travelling the world promoting tourism, goodwill among all nations and a healthy image. Moremong also said experts rate Miss Supranational as one of the top three most important and prestigious international pageants in the world.

The top 30 are: Dabilo Moses, Chabo Mapoka, Precious Haushiko, Stephinah Sebina, Cynthia Kalayakgosi, Mosa Balesamang, Koketso Baipidi, Kesego Chalashika, Laura Alfred, Ivy Seboni, Rachel Senamolela, Letso Ratlhageng, Millicent Ramatlhape, Pauline Tumelo, Felang Kwapa, Laone Baile, Kitso Makgekgenene, Margeret Ookeditse, Marilyn Saobe, Bridget Mokgojwa, Nthabiseng Khupari, Lorato Kgangnyapelo, Baitse Serai, Tia Lekgowa, Letsema Utlwang, Christina Vanstanden, Naledi Philemon, Ntsatsi Mogorosi and Kesegofetse Thipe.

She walks away with a degree scholarship of her choice. She does not have to do it during her reign. She can do it whenever she is ready. Our winner walks away with wardrobe worth P50,000 from different local designers.”

“She will stay in a house that is fully furnished for the year of her reign with bills paid, basic grocery provided for and a monthly allowance. She will have her spa home, walks with hair and make-up on call whenever she wants and a management team who will take care of all her assets her during her reign. She further stated that the Miss Supranational queen would represent the country at Poland end of July. Moremong also explained that Something Big was formed by a collaboration of different creatives who have been in the beauty pageant industry for some time and decided to create a company that would curate different beauty pageants and lifestyle events. Miss Supranational is Big Things’ first pageant after being awarded the license last year by Miss Supranational International body. The company is the first license holders of that pageant in Botswana. The current queen is Lalela Mswane from South Africa and she would be crowning the next queen at the international pageantry end of July this year.
