Legendary Jazz artist, Lister Boleseng delivered good performance to Jazz fans on Saturday at Botswana Craft PIC MORERI SEJAKGOMO
Dubbed Lunch with Lister Boleseng, the event, hosted to celebrate love, turned out to be a thrill for jazz music lovers most of whom were the senior citizens. The set up was intimate and despite the heavy rains, the men and women who love jazz saw it fit to go out and witness their favourite artist perform. While the audience enjoyed their food and drinks, Boleseng treated them with a splendid performance. The whole event was magical and the show turned out to be more than what was expected. In an interview with the event coordinator, Tlamelo Letlole, he said they decided to celebrate Valentine's Day because Boleseng had a lot of love songs. He added that they used love as a nation building motive. Letlole also explained that when a person loved him or herself, they would eventually love other people and treat them well.
He added that their aim was to spread love and curb gender based violence (GBV). He said people who loved themselves and their neighbours brought peace and harmony to those around them. Furthermore, he explained that Boleseng's music cuts across different age groups. He also said Boleseng had been on the music industry for more than two decades where he started off his career when he was a soldier. He said after joining the Botswana Defense Force (BDF) for a while, Boleseng later quit his job to fully focus on his music career where he sang along jazz legends in the likes of the late Oliver Mtukuzi and Hugh Masilela. Boleseng's music career has grown tremendously over the years and that was testified by his beautiful performance at BotswanaCraft. Letlole further explained that Boleseng took his time to produce his beautiful songs.
