The pageantry does not only groom beautiful young queens but those with compassion as well. The founder and director of the pageantry, who is also a public relations and communication specialist, Unity Mpapane, explained that Little Miss Bokaa Beauty Pageant is a charitable multi-faceted endeavour aimed at empowering young girls from grassroots level so that they can confront fears head on with unwavering strength and determination whilst embracing their true selves. She added they further strive to lead children to embrace their communities especially the less privileged children through charitable works. "I was inspired by a deep desire to create a space where young girls can grow up believing in their worth, voice, and power. Too often, children, especially girls in rural areas or village setup, are left without platforms that nurture confidence, creativity, and compassion. The Little Miss Bokaa Beauty Pageant is more than just a pageant; it is a movement of empowerment. I wanted to help young girls confront their fears, stand proudly in who they are, and realise they can lead with kindness and strength," she explained.
Mpapane further explained that she had seen how much impact beauty with purpose could have when paired with charity and mentorship. She said it became a tool for transformation. She added that watching children give back to others, support one another, and bloom with pride in their own identities was the real crown for her. Speaking about the aim and objectives of her pageant, she said they want to empower beauty queens as catalysts for change: She added that her organisation is aimed at transforming beauty queens into community advocates. That involves engaging them in charitable initiatives and fostering collaboration with diverse stakeholders to enhance social impact. She added that they aim to champion children’s community engagement espouse crowns seeking to inspire children, especially those from less privileged backgrounds, to actively participate in their communities. "This is achieved through various charitable activities that promote a sense of belonging and responsibility. We intend to foster resilience in young girls. The organization empowers young girls at the grassroots level to confront their fears with strength and determination. It encourages self-acceptance and personal growth through mentorship and supportive programmes. As part of the homecoming celebrations for our Mini and Pre-Teen queens early this year, we visited their respective schools to give back. At Raditladi Primary School, we donated pencils, erasers, and sharpeners to lower primary classes," she said.
