Hit makers Wizards of the Desert still going strong

When they entered the music industry, they were a purely hip-hop group, which seemed poised to popularise the American influenced genre in Botswana. However, over time they slowly incorporated popular African styles like Rhumba into their music.

Their latest offering titled Malewa is a mixture of Rhumba, Dancehall and Afro-House, which proves their love for urban African sounds, with heavy drumbeats and piercing lead guitar. Although they have not had a commanding position in the local music industry in recent times, the group, popularly known to churn hits like Phokoje and Re Bina ka Matheka, has remained relevant over the years and continues to headline several music concerts across the country.

Their new songs such as Senza could soon see their songs dominating local music charts yet again, re-affirming them as contemporary music powerhouse.
