Debbie with a T, pulls off great act

With her strong stage presence and confidence Debbie with T showed lyrical prowess wittily mixing age-old tribal concerns with western diction. There are conscious tones, but also a sweet and natural romance to the dishing of her songs.
She opened the show belting out Wish I Was Born A Punk Rockstar and continued to thrill the audience with songs like Broken Heart, which she described as an original composition by a ‘dear’ friend.
While it is widely acknowledged that Khama holds the title of Kgosi, the government’s failure to properly gazette his recognition has raised serious concerns about adherence to legal procedures and the credibility of traditional leadership.
