In celebrating Independence Day, the highly anticipated Bokopano Picnic Session is set to bring together a dynamic lineup of international and local artists at Garden 45 in Boatle on September 30, 2025.

Co-founder Mpho Mokgatle says patrons will immerse themselves in a vibrant atmosphere of captivating performances, uplifting rhythms, and a carefully curated ambiance that embodies the spirit of freedom and unity. The event promises to be an unforgettable experience, living up to its name ‘Bokopano’, which means unity in a serene and lush setting. “This picnic session offers an elegant blend of entertainment and relaxation, creating a memorable experience for all in attendance. The inspiration behind Bokopano Picnic Sessions was born out of a deep desire to reconnect people after a long period of isolation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. For years, communities were deprived of shared cultural and social experiences that bring joy, healing, and togetherness. Bokopano, meaning ‘gathering,’ reflects the vision of creating a safe, vibrant space where people can reunite, celebrate life, and embrace the spirit of unity once again,” he said. Through blending music, art, and nature in an open garden setting, Mokgatle said Bokopano Picnic Sessions do not only symbolise a revival of live events but also are a celebration of resilience, freedom, and the power of human connection. He added that the unique event was designed to bring people together through the universal language of music, complemented by delicious food, refreshing drinks, and the tranquil beauty of a green garden setting.

He also said revellers will be treated to an unforgettable experience with local DJs on rotation throughout the day, setting the perfect vibe, while internationally acclaimed artists Mawhoo and Brandon Dhludhlu would grace the stage with their electrifying performances. He further stated that the occasion promised not only great entertainment but also a celebration of unity, culture, and the joy of togetherness. “Bokopano Picnic Sessions is designed to attract a dynamic and diverse audience. The event caters primarily to young adults and vibrant social groups who enjoy cultural gatherings, music festivals, and lifestyle experiences that transition seamlessly from day into night. With its unique format running from midday until the early hours of the next morning, the picnic appeals to both daytime revelers seeking relaxation, good food, and live performances in a garden setting, as well as nightlife enthusiasts drawn to high-energy DJ sets and international acts. By blending these two worlds, Bokopano Picnic Sessions provides an inclusive space for music lovers, trendsetters, and social explorers to connect and celebrate Independence Day together,” he said. The event curated an exceptional lineup of artists to mark this year’s Independence Day celebration. Headlining the event are internationally acclaimed performers, Mawhoo and Brandon Dhludhlu, who will bring their powerful sounds and captivating stage presence to the Garden45 stage.
