Beyond the bottle

A six-course menu, six wines and an evening of conversation brought Gaborone diners closer to the craft and stories behind the bottle as Between U & I recently hosted the second edition of Between The Toast.

The intimate gathering brought together 80 guests in partnership with South Africa’s Simonsig Family Vineyards, with Simonsig winemaker Nathan Valentine guiding guests through a six-wine flight paired with dishes designed to complement each wine.

The evening opened with Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel Brut, paired with salmon blinis, dill crème fraîche and caviar, before moving through the winery’s portfolio.
