The National Arts Council of Botswana (NACB) has finally reinstated Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Shombie Ellis (48), after a seven months suspension.

But her reinstatement is not with immediate effect as she still has to further engage with the board to facilitate her return.

Ellis was reinstated this week following her suspension in July last year in a scenario that shook the creative industry. Ellis was appointed to the CEO position last year January by the Minister of Youth, Gender, Sport and Culture Tumiso Rakgare but she lasted only seven months in office. Initially, she was placed under a three-month suspension.
