JAB to compete in Ghana

Teams from three schools are expected to leave for Accra, Ghana on Saturday to participate in the 2011 Africa Region Junior Achievement Company of the Year Competition.

The teams, described in Junior Achievement (JA) lingo as "companies" are from Goldmine Junior Secondary School (JSS), Mater Spei College (both in Francistown) and Bokamoso JSS (Gaborone).  The competition will take place between October 18th and 21st. Young Fashion Designers, the company from Gold Mine JSS won first position in the JA Botswana National Best Business Competition junior category with their German-print heeled shoes earlier this year, ahead of Stay Phly (Bokamoso JSS) with their cardholders. 

Guardian Angels, the company from Mater Spei College, won first position in the senior category with their solid alcohol free perfume, an official from JAB told Mmegi.  Each of the companies has five members, this brings to 15 the number of students going to Accra, who will however be accompanied by their teachers. The ages of the students range from 14-18.
