Lobatse Leather Park to create 10,000 jobs

LOBATSE: The multi-million-pula Lobatse leather industry park project is expected to create at least 10,000 jobs upon commencement of its operations in 2020 instead of the initial 5,000 jobs.

Lobatse Town Council (LTC) deputy town clerk, Oganne Gontse said in an interview that the jobs will only be available when the project is fully operational.

He said the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) has been successfully completed and the government has already reached agreement terms with experts in the industry who will provide specialised skills to facilitate the success of the project.
