Cote d'Ivoire presidential elections

The government of the Republic of Botswana joins other members of the International Community in congratulating Alassane Ouattara as the winner of the Presidential Elections of Cote d'Ivoire.

The government of the Republic of Botswana calls upon all political entities, including the Constitutional Council of Cote d' Ivoire, to respect the decision of the Independent Electoral Commission, which pronounced Ouattara as the rightful winner of the elections.

The government of the Republic of Botswana is deeply concerned about African leaders who reject election results that are not in their favour.
