The terror attacks, which took place in Ivory Coast killing 16 people last month, have forced the postponement of the FIBA 3x3 International Championships to June. Gaborone 3x3 basketball side, PoshRentless which won the local edition was due to take part in the championships that were supposed to be held in April.

“We are not worried much about the tournament being moved to June as it will give us more time to secure sponsorships for the boys and make sure that they are 100 percent fit for action,” the Botswana Basketball Association (BBA) public relation officer, Tumelo Boima said.

Boima said it was a blessing for the team as they will now have extra time to prepare for the tournament and add more arsenal into the team.
