AUSC Region 5 secretary general passes on

The African Union Sports Council Region Five (AUSC Region 5) formally announces the sad passing on of its secretary general, Mvuzo Mbebe.

He was 52-years-old. Mbebe died on Monday at the ARWYP Private Hospital in Kempton Park in South Africa after losing a long battle with colon cancer.

Mbebe distinguished himself as a sports administrator par excellence in the world, Africa, the region and in his home country South Africa where he played critical roles in the successful hosting of the 2010 Football World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations.
