Monday, November 10, 2014
It was GU’s third victory against Satmos in nine days. It took only six minutes for GU to find the back of the net through speedy winger, Madla Mgadla with a beautiful header from Edwin Olerile’s corner kick. Few moments later, GU increased the lead through Ntesang Simanyana with a cracking shot. Namibian striker, Benson Shilongo added the third with Olerile providing the assist once again. For the entire game, GU dominated the midfield with Alphonse Modisaotsile, Abednico Powell and Simanyana all over Satmos. Satmos however managed to create two chances in the first half but GU goalkeeper, Goitseone Phoko denied both Mogakolodi Balatotse and Lovers Mofokeng.
Thabiso Khunwane put the game beyond Satmos reach in the last minute of the first half, scoring his side’s fourth goal of the match. In the second half, Shilongo found himself with only the goalkeeper to beat but Satmos goalkeeper, Morambiwa Ndlovu was equal to the task. With the job already done, GU coach, Rahman Gumbo removed Mgadla and Simanyana and introduced youngsters, Obonwe Maome and Letsatle Letsatle. GU continued to dominate with Satmos running out of ideas when going forward. They got their consolation goal through Mosimanegape Ramohibidu in the middle of the second half. Ramohibidu rose high and headed home, connecting Leslie Makusha’s corner kick.
