Unravelling Btv's new-look weather bulletin

Since the introduction of the new-look weather bulletin on Btv, devout weather junkies are having a field day. Two and three-dimensional graphics with multi-layered weather parameters and animations that fly across the screen have added a new dimension to weather reporting and forecasting in the country.

The true beauty of the beast will only be apparent during the rainy and cloudy seasons. Then, Radithupa Radithupa and his colleagues from the meteorological department workers will really get to show off their new toys. The principal meteorologist does not hide his enthusiasm about the new graphics system that he believes is making a profound impact on what they can do with their weather bulletin.
  

When Btv went on air in 2000, it presented a weather report of sound and data only with no visuals. "We used to fax the weather data to Btv. There was just sound followed by the temperatures," Radithupa said. Then in February 2003, they started producing a weather bulletin at a studio located at the Meteorological Services premises.
