Of women power and politics

We could start with Hilary Clinton,or Sarah Palin or better still Winnie Madikizela or even Nkosazana Zuma, but why go far when right here at home we have our very own Tebelelo Seretse, arguably the strongest woman in Botswana politics.

Yes, she has lost and yes a number of times but she  is the superwoman of politics. In this article I want to pay homage to this dynamic woman, who like the proverbial phoenix always rises from the ashes.

She is so hated by many, but loved by many more others who are inspired by her resilience.   Mme Mma Seretse a woman of strength and a woman of strong backbone, a woman with tact and political rigour. Why do people , especially women, idolize her so much? It has to be for the fact that she in a league of her won. I was rather taken aback when I noticed that this woman only made it into the BDP Central Committee as an additional member. She deserves to be in a more substantive position than that. Despite her loss she simply cannot be ignored and that is why we should celebrate her inclusion into the Central Committee.
