Lerala villagers on a lurch after mine closure

LERALA: The blistering summer heat seems to be sapping the energy out of the Lerala villagers.

It is a quiet Monday morning and the lush green vegetation around makes the village picturesque.

Just before the road that leads to the village, a sign to the left leads to a rough dusty road. The road clearly shows that it was once busy with traffic, but has since been reduced to a fading terrain. These are signposts to the Lerala DiamonEx Mine. The dusty road does not look appealing. It stretches as far as the eye can see. The road is deserted and the drive, tiring. Two seemingly insignificant figures approach from a distance.
