Lean times in Orapa and Letlhakane

LETLHAKANE: A strong whirlwind blows white dust particles across the tarred road sending some informal traders plying their trade by the roadside to cover. It leaves some traders murmuring that the eddy is a bad omen.

It's a lazy Monday morning and patches of clouds are gathering in the sky, but certainly there is no threat of rain. Taxi operators, whose taxis form a long convoy on the side of the road, are seemingly in mourning. They are not as active as taxi operators would normally be shouting  at the top of their voices wooing passengers and meeting potential clients halfway. Their mood depicts the general mood in Letlhakane. People are stunned and speak in hushed tones.

They (taxi operators) have put their heads together as if they are in a secret meeting held in the open. It's like everybody else is as lazy as the day itself. Even a first visitor can feel in the air that there is something wrong in the Boteti Sub- district headquarters.
