Jalal Oageng Jalal: Fire fighter turned horticultural farmer

Jalal Oageng Jalal has an admirable interest in farming. He believes that if the roads were not bad and his land had easy access to electricity; together with fellow farmers, they would feed the nation and reduce dependence on food imports.

"We are committed to running successful farming businesses and as farmers, we are hampered by lack of roads and electricity. Farming costs could be reduced if we had electricity on our farms. We need to be easily accessible as this will help bring in more business," he said.

He is pleased that their concerns have been taken to relevant authorities and that they have promised relevant assistance.
