Furniture mogul shifts to manufacturing

Furniture mogul Zacharia Pitso has shifted from the retail sector to venture into manufacturing.

Pitso's involvement in the furniture industry goes a long way back. "I have been doing furniture business from 1972, as a freelance salesman for Barnetts in Zeerust (South Africa). 

I was the external representative of Barnetts in Botswana," he said. He took orders from customers in Botswana and then arranged for delivery from South Africa. At the time he was based in Lobatse but he used to serve customers in places like Mochudi, Gaborone and Kanye. They could not reach Ghanzi because of bad roads.
