Domboshaba Holds Promise For Tourism

President Ian Khama has declared July the month of Botswana's search for the country's national heritage.

Responding to the president's challenge, the Monitor set out on what turned out to be a voyage of discovery of one of Botswana's hidden treasures, the ruins of Domboshaba.
In light of the fact that July has been earmarked as the month of national heritage, the visit to the historical site of Domboshaba on 9th July could not have come at a better time. She is Thokozile Mmereki.  She executes her functions from the comfort of a small wooden makeshift office.

Though not glamorous the office is as good as any other. It is fully furnished and there is a landline connecting the site to the outside world and a pit latrine for the convenience of both staff and visitors. Talk of development in the middle of nowhere.
