DJ In Court For Grievous Harm

FRANCISTOWN: A prominent Francistown DJ is facing a charge of grievous bodily harm after a violent incident involving a reveller at Pula Bar in Francistown on March 2.

Freddie John, the 32-year-old resident DJ at Pula Bar is in the dock to answer for the wounding of 30-year-old Power Nkhwana.

John appeared with his attorney, Keitshegile Sechele for arraignment and bail application last Thursday. State prosecutor Thebeetsile Molalu objected to the bail application because investigations are still going on and the complainant is in critical condition.
Molalu said that the complainant was transferred to Gaborone for treatment. "He is currently at Princess Marina Hospital in the intensive care unit and we apply that the accused be further remanded while the victim's condition is still being reviewed because at this point, he is still critical and if he dies, we will have to amend the charge sheet," he said.
