In support of Tsimako

It is encouraging to members of the Botswana Police Service (BPS) and to citizens and residents of this country for the new Commissioner of Police, Thebeyame Tsimako, to say that he will stand firm and resolute in combating crime.

As we all know, nothing is worse than a cat among the pigeons.
In his first media address since becoming Commissioner, Tsimako said he had identified illegal immigrants, cross-border crime, road safety, and the personal safety of citizens and residents as areas meriting vigilant attention.

In the course of 'paying' that attention, the new police chief plans to improve the level of alternative methods of fighting crime. Tsimako speaks of horse patrols and tracker sniffer dogs for situations where motor vehicles cannot go.
The new police chief also promises Batswana that during his tenure at the top, his officers will be visible on the street, morning, noon and night. Of course, it is a superfluity to say that to troubled persons, nothing is more assuring than the sight and nearness of a police officer.
