Child Support Grant start, a welcome development

The revelation was made by the Ministry of Local Government and Traditional Affairs, through its Chief Public Relations Officer, Chandapiwa Baputaki, As expected, many Batswana have expressed reservations about the grant, but looking at it objectively the initiative is no doubt a welcome development.

The Ministry’s press release states that low-income households with children below the age of one year will be assisted with P300 every month to meet their basic needs for the young ones. The payments have been backdated to the promised start date of April 1, 2026.
