Another year, more to learn

We welcome everyone back from the long Christmas break. Everyone looked forward to the break as a time to refresh and recuperate from the long rough and tumble of the year.

However, those two weeks have come to an end and those who have not extended their break should be back to engage in the challenges of the year ahead.  It was a time of celebrations and family get-togethers.  Some reserved their most important functions such as weddings and other engagements for the last two weeks.  Reports indicate that this last festive season was one of the most peaceful in the last few years.

For example, we did not lose as many lives to road accidents.  Although some increase in crime has been reported in some areas, overall it was a more tranquil time that is worth celebrating.  We thank those who worked to ensure this success and those who were at work while everyone was on a break; nurses, doctors, emergency services, police officers, military officers and civil servants, who were in the offices, all deserve a pat on the back.
