An open petition to democratic MPS

Democracy is what we as a nation have always sought to uphold as a beacon of our identity because its characteristics in the Kgotla system had been self-evident over the ages.

Hence the transition into becoming a democratic society at Independence was seamless. We Batswana are an inherently democratic people.

Throughout the history of Batswana as a people, even before the advent of colonial rule, throughout the histories of the various ethnic groups that make up this nation, one characteristic is singularly distinct: our abhorrence for unaccountable leadership.

Closure as pain lingers
