All Eyes On BDP Mavericks As Parley Resumes

The four ruling party politicians provided the nation with some rare intellectual and frank debates on pertinent issues as the rest of their BDP colleagues shied away or sided with cabinet. The current parliamentary session is even more interesting in that it comes at a time when President Festus Mogae has on more than four occasions this year lambasted the politicians' conduct in Parliament. He said the maverick MPs were helping the course of the opposition.
Most recently, Mogae's verbal attack on the conduct of the vocal MPs was at the BDP congress in Molepolole. It would be interesting to see what Sebetela, Lefhoko, Rakhudu and Ntuane would do in Parliament after the onslaught from the President. The four MPs and the rest of their colleagues would be under the spotlight when such sensitive matters like the privatisation of Air Botswana and the Intelligence Bill are up for debate. The four MPs appear to have forced the government to change its hard-line attitude on the said issues.
