Windfall sales forecasts at DTC Botswana

The newly established Diamond Trading Company expects to register a cumulative US$1,19billion in sales between now and 2009.

New Managing Director Brian McDonald says they have already secured markets for the product and expect to make US$280 million in first year sales (2007), US$360 million next year and US$550 million in 2009. MacDonald sees the establishment of the DTC office in the country as a milestone in the history of the diamond industry.

The man who is famed for establishing the first team of diamond sorters for the Botswana Diamond Valuing Company(BDVC) at Orapa House in 1982 is back. This time, McDonald returns as the head of the largest ever diamond trading centre in Africa.
