Unavailability of data delay MDG reports

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Local authorities say the delay in the availability of data hinders their efforts to speedily produce Millennium Development Goals (MDG) needs assessment reports.

Most representatives of local authorities at a four-day national planners seminar in Selebi-Phikwe cited the unavailability of data or the availability of only the aggregated type as a challenge in their bid to produce the reports. This seminar started on Monday and ends tomorrow.

Sarah George from the Ministry of Local Government rapped Gaborone City Council (GCC) principal economic planner, Macdonald Mutaurirwa for failure to get data from the relevant authorities.
